Identify your vehicle and the part
Start with the details you know. A clear description gives sellers a better starting point for checking whether their part suits your car.

Vehicle details
Write the make, model, and model year. Add the engine size, fuel type, transmission, or trim in your notes when you know them. If you are unsure, check your vehicle documents or ask your mechanic rather than guessing.

Part name and position
Name the part and specify front or rear, and left or right. Describe the side from the perspective of someone sitting in the car facing forward. For example, “right door mirror” is clearer than “a mirror”.

Part number
Copy the number on the old part or its label if it is readable, including letters and suffixes. Photograph it too. Ask the seller to confirm compatibility; a similar shape or matching model year alone is not enough.

When identification is uncertain
Describe what you need and ask a mechanic to confirm the part before ordering. A seller may use the vehicle identification number (VIN/chassis number) to check a parts catalogue; share it in a private conversation if needed.
Write a clear request and add useful photos
